Daily archive
Every daily Sudoku
15 puzzles so far, month by month. Each board is rebuilt from its own date, so a day from the archive is the same grid everybody played that day — not a stand-in for it.
Why a past day is still the right puzzle
The daily board is generated from the date rather than stored, using the date itself as the seed. That has an unusual consequence: the archive is not a record of what the puzzles were, it is the same machine producing them again. A day from three months ago yields exactly the grid it yielded then, and would still do so if every server involved disappeared.
It is also why the archive costs nothing to keep and can never disagree with itself. There is no database of past puzzles to drift out of sync with the generator.
Four difficulties, four different boards
Each difficulty is seeded separately from the same date, so a day’s easy board and its expert board are unrelated puzzles rather than one grid with clues put back. Pick a difficulty on any archive page and it re-deals that date at that level.
What the app adds
The pages here are stateless by design — no account, nothing remembered. The daily challenge in the app is where the memory lives: a browsable calendar, a streak that survives a missed day if you go back and play it, and quests that pay coins toward board themes.
Frequently asked questions
Can I play past daily Sudoku puzzles?
Yes. Every month since the archive began has its own page with a calendar — pick any date and the board for that day loads. There is no account and nothing to unlock.
Is an archived puzzle the same one people played that day?
Exactly the same. The board is generated from the date itself rather than stored, so a given date always produces the same grid — today, on the day, and in ten years.
Do all four difficulties exist for past days?
Yes. Each difficulty is seeded separately from the same date, so a day's easy board and its expert board are genuinely different puzzles rather than one grid with clues added back.
Does playing an old puzzle restore my streak?
Not on this page, which keeps no state at all. The daily challenge in the app tracks streaks across the calendar and does let you go back and play days you missed.
